Discover a couple of ancient treasures, with these (2) 1880s Victorian rugby-football die cuts. These scarce survivors are a good bit larger than similar sport-themed "scraps" from this period.
Featured are:
8-1/2" Player holding a ball under his right arm (EX+), has embossed details and presents handsomely with bold colors, nice gloss and a clean surface. The grass field at bottom is printed with "The Captain of the Team", below the left shoe.
12-1/2" Player of the same design as the one listed above, but printed on much heavier stock, without a caption. Outfitted with an unused stand on the back, this giant has a fairly unobtrusive reverse side tape repair across the neck, just under the chin, with a fleck of surface loss noted along the obverse tear, otherwise clean and highly appealing with bold colors, and EX+ details.
