Round up the pigs and send them to the pen, this collection of vintage baseball banks is a big improvement over having a bunch of oinkers on your shelves. As popular as piggy banks are, we'll take this c.1955-1959 baseball coin bank lot of (20) every time. These ancient coin receptacles were purposed as giveaway premiums for bank patrons, and the names of various local banks are printed on either a ball sweet spot, or the front of the base. Most have the factory name "Koster Dana-Barrell Inc." on the underside of the base, and all of these plastic orbs are decorated with facsimile autographs of period baseball stars, including legends Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, and Willie Mays. Occasional signatures are compromised by wear, but the great majority are distinct, full examples. The balls range from bright white to dark cream, and a few of the bases are broken, or in one case absent. Overall this is a satisfying collection, loaded with big name stars of the 1950s.

Featured are:

1955 NL All-Stars with Musial, Hodges, Mays, Schoendienst, Newcombe, Campanella, Snider and Roberts;
