Marilyn Monroe’s pure sex appeal vaulted her to the top of the entertainment world in the 1950s and five full decades after her 1962 demise her popularity is greater than ever. Presented is a Marilyn Monroe signed check dated 6/19/59 made payable to the “New York Telephone Company”. Ms. Monroe’s stylish (“8-9”) quality signature has been applied in blue ink by steel-tip fountain pen to a “Colonial Trust Company” check measuring 3 x 8-1/2” which is printed with the title “Marilyn Monroe Productions Inc.” below the signature line. This coveted original document is glamorously framed and double matted in vivid red and white with an appealing photo to overall dimensions of 20x28. The captivating photo showcases the blond bombshell in a whimsical pose highlighted by her seductive eyes and gleaming smile. The appropriately sexy red matting features Marilyn’s name carved in elegant gold lettering at bottom, while the nicely coordinated mahogany colored frame tastefully completes this abundantly appealing display piece. Present is a cancellation stamp which overlaps the letters “Mar” of Marilyn’s given name, this stamp does not obscure or diminish the clearly legible signature. Full photo LOA from JSA.
