For Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle, pennants and World Series triumphs were realized at an alarming rate. It’s no coincidence that simultaneously, so did the popularity and sales of New Jersey’s chocolate-flavored “Yoo-Hoo” beverage. This original 1950s point-of-sale ad display portrays original spokesperson Berra and his popular switch-hitting “recruit” hawking the aptly titled "Drink of Champions!" Framed to 36-1/2 x 29-1/2”, this is a scarce and coveted keepsake in the realms of baseball and Americana. Trumping that detail is the belief that this may very well be the finest example extant. Unlike most survivors, this one includes its original cardboard “frame” (a simulated “wood” accessory which, in most cases, has long since disappeared). Additionally, the surface of the ad appears to be free of creases and marks inherent to retail display.
Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage.
Note: the above-mentioned disclaimer is regarding the display frame only, not the cardboard frame crafted as part of the original piece.
