Decidedly popular during the late-1800s and early-1900s, bestowals of human hair were valued tokens of friendship. For Caroline Wright, the wife of former Indiana Governor Joseph Wright, collecting hair of political figures was a hobby. Following Abraham Lincolnís 1865 inauguration, these strands of his hair were given to Mrs. Wright. These strands are housed in an 8x10 display and were in the Wright family until auction sales in 1992 and 2002. Notarized LOA from Cary J. Delery, Historical Shop. This item has a reserve (estimated value $500-$1000)
